Environmental Courses

The Burren is an ideal outdoor classroom and the Burren OEC specialises in quality field study programmes. These are designed to meet curricular requirements for Junior and Leaving Cert. courses as well as augment any 3 rd level environmental programme. These include:

Geography Studies : Karst landforms, pavements, caves and their formation, glaciation etc.
Ecological Studies : Habitats such as limestone pavement, rocky shore and woodland.
Historical Studies: The effect of man on the landscape - ring forts, tombs and medieval abbeys
